It’s Friday!

Tuesday’s prenatal yoga class was a success. I was a little skeptical, as I hadn’t gone to yoga since January of this year and didn’t know if I should expect something on the relaxation or workout end of the spectrum. I wound up being pleasantly surprised. The 75 minute class combined both relaxation and a little bit of a workout, at least from a stretch perspective. Although there were only two other women in the class, I was happy to be in a smaller group which allowed us to chat before and after class. One of the women is 23 weeks while the other is 13, it was cool to be somewhere in the middle. We did some of the traditional ashtanga yoga poses while adding in others more reflective of Hatha Yoga. Blocks and bolsters were used to aid us when moving in to position with modifications. I’ll definitely be back next week!

Planning a get together this weekend or just looking for some kind of a treat to snack on or spread for your sandwiches? I came across these 13 hummus recipes via Brown Eyed Baker from Shape Magazine. The feta recipe looks delicious and while you’re not supposed to consume unpasteurized dairy while pregnant, (such as soft cheese or raw milk) many of the feta and goat cheese brands I regularly buy are actually pasteurized. Just look at the fine print and I think you, my fellow preggers, will be quite surprised with how much is actually pasteurized these days. Which recipe is your favorite from this list, or do you have any of your own?
